Mrs Claire Murdoch  Practice Manager (Diploma in Primary Care Management)

The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Mrs Linda Barr  - Assistant Practice Manager

Supervises the reception area on a daily basis and deputises for the Practice Manager in her absence

Our Patient Advisors Catherine, Donna, Tracy, Anne-Marie, Marie & Ruth provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Patient Advisors make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with enquiries.

Catherine is our Senior Patient Advisor.  

MPharmS, IndPresc.  Sabrina is a pharmacist employed by the health board who works in the practice.  Sabrina is an Independent Prescriber who is involved in management of prescriptions, medication reviews, medication enquiries, health promotion and patient consultations.  Sabrina is available on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week.

Based at Udston Hospital/Blantyre Health Centre, these nurses deliver nursing care to patients of all ages within their own environment. They also liaise with other agencies to support patients’ needs within the community.  You may contact them on 03003030263.

Based at Blantyre Health Centre, Blantyre Health Visitors are specially trained in public health nursing.  Their remit involves the promotion of health and prevention of ill health. Working mainly with families of children under 5. You may contact them on 01698 755111.

Amanda Turner BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy joined the practice 3 days per week from February 2020.   You can self-refer to Amanda or alternatively referral will be made via your usual GP

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapists are health professionals who help people with a range of health problems and long-term conditions to manage everyday activities (occupations) that matter to them.

This includes activities

• at home -  dressing, bathing, housework, cooking, hobbies
• at work – including paid work, volunteering, education and carer roles
• in the community –  driving or using public transport, shopping, socialising, being physically active, leisure activities
