Ordering of Repeat Medications

From 4th July 2016 we will no longer accept prescription requests from the Chemist.  You can only order medication by

1.  Placing your repeat medication slip in the box located in the waiting area

2.  Order online via our practice website at www.burnbankmedicalcentre.co.uk

3.  Telephoning our new prescription voicemail system 01698 456622 (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)

It is estimated that over £15 million pounds worth of prescribed medication in Scotland is wasted each year.  We all have a part to play in reducing this.

 

Failure to Attend Appointments

PLEASE BE AWARE IF YOU FAIL TO ATTEND AN APPOINTMENT YOU WILL BE SENT A LETTER ADVISING YOU OF SAME.  SHOULD YOU FAIL TO ATTEND 3 TIMES WITHIN A YEAR YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM OUR PRACTICE LIST AND ASKED TO REGISTER WITH ANOTHER PRACTICE.

Community Opticians 

An Optometrist is the best person to assess urgent eye problems, eye disorders and treat eye conditions. They have the professional training and necessary equipment to asses most eye problems. 

Many Opticians are part of the Lanarkshire Eye-health Network Scheme (LENS) including:

  • The Optical Factor - 01698 458 005 (128 Almada St, Hamilton, ML3 0EW)
  • Specsavers Hamilton (also provide house visits to housebound patients) - 01698 891 565 (93-95 Quarry St, Hamilton, ML3 7AG)
  • Boots Opticians Hamilton - 01698 281 704 (55 Quarry St, Hamilton, ML3 7AH)

They are able to treat dry eye, red eye, sore eye, deterioration of eyesight and disturbance of vision or eyesight.

LENS (Lanarkshire Eye-health Network Service)

LENS is an enhanced eye-care service available across Lanarkshire. LENS is a free NHS service delivered by most community Optometrists in Lanarkshire. They should be your first port of call if you have any sort of eye problem.
